I am a technology professional with over 20 years international experience working for blue chip financial services organisations in primarily market-facing roles. Over my career I have delivered multi-million dollar programs with large globally dispersed teams delivering accelerated transformational business outcomes. I have also worked with numerous startups in a diverse range of industries including film and media, sports management, public sector, transport and ecommerce.Alan Mitchell 2-001

My previous corporate roles have included Global Product Manager, Consulting Director and CTO. In addition to my extensive experience managing offshore teams I have relocated three times throughout my career from London to San Francisco, Tokyo and now Sydney. I feel that I have benefited from  by developing a true global management mindset that in this face-to-face world of Agile interaction I do not believe can be developed from flying visits and conference calls.

I have a passion for technology with an extensive software development background and a BSc. in Computer Science. I have worked with most development technologies, design approaches and SDLC methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.

I began coding aged around 10 in BASIC on a humble Sinclair ZX Spectrum. When I was in high school I developed and implemented a complete ERP system in six weeks for a fleet of early sharp portables before going on to study Computer Science in Edinburgh.

My first career role as a professional developer was with Barclays Global Investors which was at that time the worlds largest institutional fund manager ($1.3Tr USD FUM). I custom developed an asset allocation product which was laterally selected as the global strategic investment tool. I worked my way through the ranks from original developer to Global Product Owner across the entire business function managing an international development team.

I hold an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM), a BSc. (Hons) in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and a Diploma in Film from Sydney Film School.
